A Journey of 'Whole-Soul' Intentional Living...

Inspiring You to Live ALL the Colours of Your Truth.

Welcome to Mama Chameleon, where I encourage women to live ALL the colours of their truth.
We are multi-faceted beings that need more than just a tidy house and happy kids to make us feel fulfilled. And yet, so often it feels like motherhood should be "it" for us. It can feel like the doors to nearly everything else have closed.

I am here to tell you that you don't need permission to have passions besides being a great mother. You don't need permission to speak your truth, to take time out for yourself or even to change careers if you want to. YOU are the captain of your ship, and the master of your fate.
When we begin to embrace the idea of cultivating a broader inner-life - exploring new hobbies and interests, tending to our marriage, deepening our spiritual practice, taking care of ourselves first - we become better mothers as a result.
It's like that bumper-sticker saying: "Happy Wife, Happy Life" right?

It's very true that our energy affects our family, and it's our duty as conscious mothers to do what we can to keep our energy high and loving.

But we can't pour from an empty cup... I want to help you take the actions that will fill your cup again
Meet Mama Chameleon - aka Tam Johnson

Tam's purpose in life is to inspire mothers to embrace ALL of who they really are, and get into action to create the life they truly want.

She knows what YOU want and need: you want to feel validated in your desires, and you need to know you have what it takes to get unstuck and bring your dreams to life. Tam lives the transformation everyday and knows without a doubt that if she can do it, anyone can. Read Tam's story here.

She teaches mothers with big dreams & ambitions, the principles and strategies to overcome obstacles, overwhelm and feeling stuck, so they can play-to-win big and feel truly fulfilled in all areas of life.

My sister-in-law has a black & white Mini Cooper that she calls Domino. There is nothing she doesn’t do for Domino, as far as I can tell, and one day she asked if I could crochet some Mini Knob Hats for him... Yes, I got the girly-giggles too :)

I’ll admit that this is the very first blanket I’ve ever completed. It’s also only the second one I’ve ever attempted. Because they just take so loooooooooooong! And I’m an instant-gratification-type person with a butterfly-brain. I generally work on small projects. But because this is worked in squares that actually only have 4 rounds each, and because the pattern is so easy to follow you can do it while watching TV, it came together really quickly (for me anyway lol). It also helped that I had a lot of motivation to do it – after all, it was a commission and a payment for something I really wanted to do, and the person I was making it for is one of my favourite people in the whole world!

Aside from all the old-lady comments and jokes from my husband, I was surprised at how much I liked it, and how little there was to it, basically. I was also very surprised at how hip and modern crochet has become - it's a far cry from the frumpy, boring and itchy things I remember from my childhood.  It took a few days for me to really get my head and my hands around it, but once I got it, I really GOT it. And I just couldn't get enough of it. I began to welcome the granny jokes! It took a good few weeks to learn the ins and outs of the different essential stitches, how to get a good tension for the type of project I was working on, and how to get straight edges on square items, but all along the way it was the most engaging, relaxing...

So what makes these specific things so very much a priority in my spare time? Well each one provides different benefits and challenges and depending on what I feel I need in the moment, that will inform my decision on what I pick up and do. But overall, the biggest benefit of having hobbies is the nurturing of my sense of self. It's ME time. It's that point in the day/week when I can just give in to what I love to do rather than do more of the things I HAVE to do that I may or may not enjoy doing. I can relinquish responsibility and just do something that feeds my soul.
